Socks

I have a thing for socks.  Not just any old socks, but wooly handmade socks.  Like these:

Both are hand made by me.  (Truth be told, almost all my winter socks are handmade.) The green ones are a no nonsense 75% wool, 25% nylon blend for socks - Regia 4ply.  The pattern was originally by Patons but I've changed it somewhat.  The fuchsia is Frog Tree Pediboo in Wine and the pattern is Nutkin (if you're on Ravelry you can find it there).  I have another pair in a lovely soft pink on the needles right now - one is finished and the second is well underway.  They are knit in Alpaca Sox - again using the Paton's pattern that I've customized for me.  I have enough hand made socks that I only need to wash them all once a week and I still have a choice on laundry day.  Really -  I actually wear them.  What's the point of putting that work in if you don't wear them?  I know they are usually stuffed in shoes but this is an effort that is for me.  Some women go to the spa - I knit socks.

So you can imagine how excited I was to discover the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin' Sock Club!  OK - it wasn't a discovery so much as getting myself organized to actually get my order in to be a part of this. I may be wrong on this but it seems that you can only purchase a membership to the club during a very narrow window of time - a few weeks in January before it is shut and the first lovely box is shipped.  I missed it last year and really feel like I missed out on something - not to mention that every blog I've read in the last year talks about this club and the lovely things that come out of their barn.  But this year....this year is different.  I got my order in.  I even received a confirmation email that they had received the order.  I'm so excited now - I can hardly wait for the first box to arrive to see what sort of goodies are inside.
